Description
62cm (24.4”) This beautiful chalet style clock showcases both hand carved and crafted features, to create a truly eye-catching timepiece. This clock features a multi-level Bavarian chalet house with a timber facade, water wheel and a clock Peddler out the front of the house, along with some grazing deer. Additional details out the front of the chalet include hand carved pine trees that surround the chalet on the sides – such detailed foliage helps to set the scene perfectly.
The clock also features a chalet style roof, with a bell tower that stands high above the roof, along with a wooden clock dial in the centre of the piece, and a timber pendulum that hangs below the clock itself, alongside the weights. Large amounts of hand painted details help to add a hint of colour to the fascinating scene, with green window shutters and flowers in the windowsills, along with the detail out the front of the chalet that has been hand painted. Rounding out the fascinating design of this cuckoo clock are colourful dancers on a balcony above the clock dial. This particular clock runs on an 8-day mechanism, and therefore needs to be wound once a week simply by pulling the weights. The in-built cuckoo of this clock calls the time each hour and once at half past, with an automatic night shut-off mode to allow you a sound sleep before recommencing again the next morning. There are two melodies that alternate with this clock after the cuckoo calls on the full hour- Edelweiss and Happy Wanderer.
