50cms (19.5″) In the Black Forest region of Germany, shingle making is a traditional craft. The rooves of the houses are made with these hand crafted wooden shingles, as is this cuckoo clock only on a smaller scale of course! The clock features a moving shingle maker who moves on the hour as the cuckoo calls. The water wheel turns round and the dancers appear – all on the hour as the cuckoo calls the number of hours. There are other hand painted, hand carved details such as the cockerel and the dog. This clock has a night shut off lever.
