36cm(14.5″)This delightful cuckoo clock measuring 14.5” and 18” wide depicts the scene at a bierkeller it portrays a delightful scene in the Bavarian countryside, featuring a multi-level chalet with a unique facade, proudly displaying both the flag of Bavaria as the window shutters. in the front of the chalet and to the right are two men sitting at a table enjoying a beer and a pretzel, whilst a beer maid is carrying them some more beers from the Biergarten to the side of the chalet. Additional details in the front of the chalet include a table with steins, some stacked kegs against the chalet, a water wheel, a large tree and a fence with some flowers. This fascinating scene also includes a clock dial in the centre of the chalet, and a number of hand painted details including Bavarian style window shutters and flowers in the windowsills. The cuckoo calls every half hour with the correct number on the hour and once on the half hour. When the cuckoo calls the beer drinkers raise their steins to the number of the call. After the cuckoo calls on the hour  the music plays one of two tunes “Trink Trink Bruderlein” and “Trink in Munchen steht ein Hofbrauhaus” both of which are traditional German drinking songs, the bar maid moves, the water wheel turns and the dancers twirl on the balcony This particular clock runs on a 8-day mechanism, and has a automatic night shut off lever.
